Austin 7 Club
Annual Racing Day
at Mallala

Sun, Sept 8th ...

In attendance : Rob, Roncia, Ruth, Ian (Snoopy), Jeanne & Geoff.

There were approx. 300 classic and vintage cars on display, including some magnificent Jaguars and Mustangs. The track racing consisted of vintage racers, HQ and modern V8’s with a few prangs in the HQ section. The wind was a bit chilly but it was an entertaining day.

The adrenaline must have still been working for one of the HQ racing drivers as he passed us at approx. 100 km/h on the left, off the road, fishtailing his trailer knocking down posts until he regained control, showering us with rocks. 4 of us shared a lottery ticket hoping our luck was still holding, but I think we had just used a years supply.

It was cold and windy but a great day seeing all the fantastic old cars as well as some good car racing of all types. I haven't been to Mallala for decades and it was a good experience, I recommend it as a trip to every one if its on again next year, thanks Geoff.
