Lawn Bowls
We turned up to the Adelaide Airport Lawn Bowling club one Friday night, quite a few of us actually, the word was to wear a loud shirt most people got in to the theme I specially liked Lee’s shirt with loud written all over.
After much ado we were organised into teams and then into teams again, the people from the bowling club put on a sausage sizzle many thanks to the cooks it was nice not to cook. Our trip organiser turned up just in time to play. We were then organised in to teams again.
After a quick explanation of the rules it was time to bowl, what a laugh bowls were going everywhere except where they were supposed to. Just as we were about to open with a good score our captain knocked the jack (the little white ball) away from our bowls. The boys on our opposition must have thought they were ten-pin bowling, they sent their bowls in to the gutter.
As the night went on our bowling skills did not improve but we had a great time perhaps too good, we did not have time to swap opponents we played a few more ends before going in for supper, once again put on by the bowling club.
The raffle was drawn and as usual won by John Hill, to think he was just in front of me buying those tickets.
Many thanks to Rob Roy and the Adelaide Airport Bowling Club for a great night.
Barbara.
