Copper Triangle Fishing Charter Trip 5th & 6th July

Sitting around the campfire at Mulga View, I asked if anyone was interested in going on a fishing charter. After a few positive responses, JC then displayed his organizing skills. The following week at the club meeting, a trip sheet was on the board and a fishing charter was arranged for the following weekend.

Cindy and I arrived Saturday night to meet JC and his son Jason at a Pt Hughes Holiday Home. Copper Triangle Fishing Charter recommended this to JC.

After settling in the two-story shack, (better than most Motels), we sat down to a night of cards. The competitive spirit between the two Collins’ boys had to be seen to be believed. Jason had introduced us to a new card game, aptly named, R-Soles. A disagreement begun during the first game and the rivalry continued throughout the night. Funny enough, I was the leading R-Sole until JC made a late run and we finished joint R-Soles for the night. Cindy showed us fellas her competitive nature with her fierce card playing.

After a very comfortable sleep, we awoke to the sounds of the wind gently blowing. We drove down to the Pt Hughes boat ramp and met a couple of JC’s Firey Mates, Michael, who drove up in the morning, and Perry and Deb, who stayed overnight in their own LoveShack. The car park was deserted, and when the charter vehicle arrived minus the Boat, we all realised the weather conditions would not allow us out to catch that elusive Big Red Snapper and the King George Whiting that we were going to share amongst our club members.

Disappointed, we departed, waiting for another day to fill our eskies with seafood tucker.
