Addressing some Big Bend by Night Trip Report Anomalies & Omissions
Convoy Procedures
Before we left the TTG hotel car park I gave the group a run down on convoy procedures. This was met by a disgruntled comment from a prominent club member.
Trip Report
A couple of kilometres into the journey I was informed by the same member that a convoy member hadn’t been selected to write the report.
I then delegated this concerned member to arrange someone to do it. Radio negotiation initially got him nowhere but as negotiations go it was resolved with the rest of the convoy unanimously electing this very concerned member, well done Rick!
Collection
After a short collaboration on my arrival at the wonderful river campsite between Russ & me it was decided that he would collect the Big Bend monies. But unbeknown to both of us some members either couldn’t count or were mischievous and someone had spiked Russ’ medication.
Betting on the Sheep Race
I was sitting along side of (you guessed it) Rick who through the auctions I was bumped & pushed attempting to get me to gamble & I was trying hard not to let him get me. Often these movements would register as a bid to Rick.
Campfire Serenading
Or a very loud out of tune din, is my information, which was delivered by Russ & Rick. At that time in the parking bay on the other side of the river a couple of caravans & a Winnebago all packed up quickly & left. As this was occurring a small child was heard asking her mother what the sound was & she said it was the River Murray Whaling Banshee.
Cindy’s Nightmare
Well what can I say the lists are endless and then there is Rick, brave woman. We have the case of a very large huntsman spider crawling over her all night with our hero Rick, so bone idle & lazy that he wouldn’t even remove a spider when Cindy was in mortal peril, what a cad. Cind you are a saint, how do you do it?
A Big Thank You
Paul & Barb thank you for assistance helping me with this trip. Your use of local knowledge & contacts was a great help in achieving our goals.
