Backyard Blitz by the Wanderers

Cliff, Tony & Sandra, Rob, Justin, Fred, Andrew & Sarah, Chris, Perry, Rick & Cindy, Paul & Paula, Paul’s Dad.

The call was put out at our December meeting for volunteers to attend a tidy-up the following day at the Caldicotts home. Paul & Paula were about to place their house on the market and build a new home up at Mt Barker.

The Wanderers club spirit shone through and the members rocked up with an assortment of whipper snippers, wheel-barrows, blowers, shovels, chainsaws, brooms, rakes, pitch-fork and an axe.

Two & a half hours later, the combined effort saw the backyard transformed into a ready-for sale home.

A shed was dismantled, weeds removed, trees and plants pruned. Two trailer loads of mulch and pebbles were distributed around the garden.

A hidden wishing well was uncovered and restored to its former glory.

We finished of our day with a BBQ and drinks, enjoying the surroundings and superb view of the city from the back yard.

Rick

I would like to add special thanks to Rick and Tony for approaching people to help on the day along with co-ordinating troops. plus mention Tony for shelling out for a skip for us

We would like to pass on our heart filled thanks for the people who turned up and helped, taking a large burden off us at a very busy and stressful time.

Cheers, Paul
