Intruder Alert ...
On August 6 & 7 my Shelley & I went to Morgan expecting a quiet weekend. That is the last time I will listen to a caravan park owner.
On arrival, on Saturday, things went as usual as far as getting to the site. Go to the kiosk, fill out the paper work, (wot’s my rego number ?) pay for the site, get the crapper key then find a site. Driving around to the ground what do we see ? Tents. Anyway, we set about our task of setting up the tent, having lunch, letting the killer dog play with some kids, then it happened, in came the 4wd’s. As time went on out came a fire bin, fire wood started appearing, this could be interesting I tell the missus.
After our evening walk we returned via the fire (it attracted us to it like 2 bugs to bug zapper). Then it happened. We said g’day to the 2 fire guardians (Rick & Cindy), nobody else wanted to feed the fire so they bolted off to the pub. As the conversation wore on, we were invited to stay and meet the rest of the group. We did stay ... until ... really late. Our dog was abducted several times, we sat, we drank, we talked, we listened. At some stage we called it quits for the night.
Sunday started out as normal, toilet dash, brekky and a cuppa. Did I mention the Sunday sermon? Rick won’t forget this one (good one Rick ).
An invite was put to Shelley & I. If a spare seat can be found, would you like to come along? You bet.
The rest of our day was terrific as we played passenger with John & Kym.
A $50 weekend has turned into a $15,000 weekend with my sights on a 4wd. We will also be visiting your club with the view to joining. Why? Because we enjoyed ourselves & the people we met.
Regards
Eric & Shelley Williams
