Quite a few of us went down on Friday night and sat around Cliff and Jean’s van relaxing and sampling Paul & Barb’s home brews. The only problem with that was they brought different beers (one being ginger beer for Barb) other varieties for Paul but no labels and all in the same type of bottle. Barb knew which was which until Paul was ‘helping’ pack. Needless to say they got mixed up so we had lots of laughs watching Paul’s face when he opened the ginger beer instead of his brew.
We all got to sample the different varieties and enjoyed them a lot. Thanks guys.
Saturday morning was a do as you wish day. Some of us went for a drive along the beach and a walk, others arrived and set up in the morning. As is tradition now one or two of the ladies went for a fully clothed swim! Very nice too. After lunch those that wanted to made Christmas earrings, which was fun, while the boys were sampling more of Paul’s home brew just to make sure it still tasted good a day later.
There was some concern in one of the cabins as a huge huntsman spider had taken up residence, giving the occupants a neck strain keeping an eye on its movements.
After copious amounts of nibbles it was time for dinner!!! We all moved into the hall and waited eagerly for Santa to arrive. Thank you Santa Geoff for a great job and bringing a smile to all our faces. The secret Santa worked well and set the mood for a very happy evening. Thank you also John H for organizing the music for the night.
The meal was great. Thank you Sonya and Sharon for all your preparations towards the meal and the whole weekend. The place looked very festive and we all enjoyed our celebration. Well done girls and a big thankyou to all the many hands who helped make our end of year weekend a good one. Wishing everyone a great 2007.
Tony & Sandra
Tony says thankyou to secret Santa for his chocolates and for the container of beads for Sandy. How did he know us so well.
