Nuts & Bolts Day - Saturday, 6th May, 2006 ...

There was a good roll-up with about 13 vehicles attending.

The weather was kinder to us this year refraining from raining. We managed to have a campfire as a result of the permit and burning of almond prunings.

The shades were set up and some of the procedures of interest were:

Repairing a puncture on a tubeless tyre

Transferring charge from one battery to another using only speaker wire

Transferring fuel from a 200lt drum to your vehicle us ing your compressor

Changing a tyre from the rim and inflating it (in record time)

Navigation and using a GPS, a program & DVD screen

Using an under sink filter to filter suspect water for use

Repairing a radiator with 2 holes

Our sponsor sent along some products for viewing and at least one sleeping bag was bought

Different drawer systems

Our french-named damper cook invitee burnt the damper forcing us to cut off the burnt bits and cover it with home-made fig jam (we suggested she doesn't attend any more Nuts & Bolts days, but I can't repeat what she replied)

John brought a BBQ from the MFS and we had a great lunch. (The Wanderers repaired a couple of problems with the BBQ in appreciation)

Whistle, goggles bush survival

12 volt wheel ratchet
