Anzac Day Weekend
We went to Argadells:- Tony & Sandra, Allan & Ineke, Margie & Chris, John, Andrew & Mark, Gary, Cathy & Sharky, Graeme & Sharon & Kym & John. Tony & Sandra, Allan & Ineke arrived up at Argadells on Thursday. The rest of us all met at Quorn on Anzac Day and we were meeting at noon, but we were all there by around 11 am and waiting for Tony & Sandy, Allan & Ineke to arrive. Once they did, we all set off for Argadells. We got to camp, set up and then headed off for our first drive. While we were out, John (not the Delica ... another John) heard a knocking noise coming from his vehicle. After checking his vehicle out, he could not find the problem so he started driving, only to hear the noise again. Luckily, we were nearly back at camp, so he came back and then he decided to head back home. ![]() The campfire was lit and we had happy hour and talked about the days drive. While we were sitting around the camp fire, there were many amusing anecdotes. Things like rabbits, rabbits, rabbits ... it’s to do about the smoke following you or not following you! Next day we got up, the campfire was re-lit, people showered, had breakfast and then we headed out for our first drive for the day, ending up at the top of Mount Arden. The views were just amazing. While we were up the top of Mount Arden, Kym & John rang Tony to tell him that their car had been fixed (yes the Delica!), and they were leaving to come to Argadells. After leaving Mount Arden, we came across a lovely creek area, where we stopped and had morning tea. Arriving back at camp around 1 pm, it was time for lunch. As we were just about to go back for another drive, Kym & John arrived. They quickly put their camper up, and off we went out for another drive. Andrew & Mark headed off for home instead of coming back to camp with the rest, when the others got back it was time for happy hour. Just as we started, then the rain came down. Our resident weatherman Allan said that the rain would last 45 minutes, (only 35 minutes!) so Happy Hour resumed. It rained on and off for the evening and we all retired for bed around 9 pm.Sunday morning everyone packed up, as soon as the rain stopped, said our goodbyes to Kym & John who had planned on staying a few days and started on the track out. Chris led the troops out, nice and slippery on the way out due to the rain overnight. It was great to see the water in the creeks and on the property. On the way back into Quorn, we had 7 water crossings to go through. We all had a good weekend, with great company, our first camp fire for the year and excellent views. Thanks to Tony & Sandy for a leading a great weekend. Sharon and Graeme Disclaimer : please note |
