My Aussie Wheel

Why Struggle
After 2 shoulder reconstructions in a year and a half I decided that pushing and shoving a caravan around my yard by hand was not on for me. So it was onto the internet to researching what was available to make caravan life easier for me. My greatest concerns were whether it would be powerful enough and whether there was any locally made brands so servicing should be easier.

I went to the sites and read the endorsements then rang local caravan gear suppliers and through that found a manufacturer in Western Australia who made the Aussie Wheel. Unlike all the others this one came with an adapter for the Treg Hitch which I needed to greatly assist my cause.

My Purchase
After having a demo at Dario Caravans I ordered one and a short time later along it came and after taking it home it was all I was looking for. It was certainly powerful enough and there was no more pushing or shoving, my shoulders loved it.

My Accident
The night before it happened I thought the Aussie Wheel doesn’t have a deadman’s switch or a kill switch and wondered what would happen if the switch failed?

The very next day I found out it was coming towards me and wouldn’t stop so over the edge of the driveway I went hanging onto the handle with the caravan finishing about 1.5m from my neighbour’s house and needed to be rescued by the Fire Service.

Repaired & Redesigned
The manufacturer was most concerned and extremely co-operative with the unit back in about 3 weeks complete with a kill switch which works a treat.

I’m back with my caravan being easily moved around my front yard with now a very safe mover which I can isolate the power in an instant with my foot on a kill switch.

Happy Campers
My view of this is that my caravan manoeuvring is easy and safe once more and both Jane and I are happy campers again.

Traveller Industries makers of the Aussie Wheel now have an efficient, safe power mover.
