Christmas 2009, Nuriootpa  ...

Thankfully the weather changed for the weekend (as is now custom, it was wet).

Some of us arrived Friday for our stay at the caravan park and sat under a great shelter close to our vans, tents cabins etc. and it was great to catch up and relax.

Saturday morning we set off for the local Farmers Market near Angaston. When you walked through the doors you were met with great aromas from all the different produce on offer. We all tasted and bought various items as we looked around the bustling warehouse. Well worth a look.

We then drove to Angas Park, dried fruit, chocolate and gift shop, continued on to Sculpture Park which overlooked the valley and walked amongst the carved granite statues, which felt so smooth when wet.

We drove on to Chateau Tanunda winery for tastings. A number of bottles were bought by the members and we all enjoyed the selection of cheeses included.

We then travelled on to Seppelsfield winery, lovely grounds, could have picnic there sometime in the future.

We all went back to camp for lunch as we all had bought some "goodies" earlier at the market.

Later it was time to prepare the nibbles and meet in our favourite shelter shed to wait for Santa's arrival.

We filled the shed with lots of laughter and plenty to eat and thanks to every one for making the Secret Santa fun and intriguing, as we watched each other unwrap their gifts.

Then the Grand Finale the dinner at the Vine Inn. We changed for dinner, some walked, others drove and arrived just before 7. Meals were ordered, drinks were acquired and happiness abounded.

We were all glad the hot spell had broken and grateful for the rain, and it certainly didn't dampen the spirit of our great club members.

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone best wishes
from Sandra and Tony
