Sandra - Ben, Sonya, Chris, Margie, Deb, Perry, David, Bronwyn, Tony and Sandy, all met at Roseworthy at 10 am Saturday. We drove on to Burra, arranged for the keys for the Heritage Trail on Sunday and set up camp at a Conservation Park out of Burra. After lunch we went driving on the 4wd track, nice rocky track. Margie and Sonya had a drive, Ben was stressing. We all enjoyed our day and arrived home at 4pm in time for dribbles. The camp site is lovely with a shelter shed and paved floor and a good long drop loo.Sonya - The drive was lovely especially as Margie & Sonya could have a go. Ben ventured off to explore an old ruin (cottage) returned covered in little prickles. Along the track was a sculpture of a face made from wire, an emu made from an old windmill and a variety of wildlife - kangaroo & joey, goats & sheep.Debs quote talking during nibbles - Any calories eaten on trips don’t count. If you break a biscuit in ½ the calories drop out. (Is this a myth?) Sunday October 2nd - Sandra - Last night we sat around after dinner and laughed our heads off till bed time. Can’t remember what was so funny this morning though. We had a lovely day driving yesterday and today we are doing the Burra Heritage trail. We met Paul and Barb in Burra as they wanted to tag along with us for the day and around 10 am we headed off for a days exploring.Bronwyn - Great day with great company. We had a funny little man as a tour guide who just kept popping up everywhere, he reminded me so much of "Ben Ten". We met a hooker from the heritage age dressed in a green dress and long blonde hair. There was a new camper on the trip that was "broken-in". Margie's laugh is beautiful. I could go on and on but the best I could say is this was a great week-end.(unsure who wrote this next bit) - Another enjoyable day, we started off for our heritage trail leaving camp at approx 9.30 am. The sun was shining and we enjoyed a lovely drive to our first stop which was the Burra Mines, chimneys, Engine House. We moved on and enjoyed our lunch at the old Jail House. The placards stated times were tough in the old days. The crimes some people committed seemed minor.Margie - We had a fantastic night’s sleep in our new TVan! Woke up to a beautiful sunrise and quiet morning, with only the birds for company. After Fridays rain and wind it was so nice to have a bit of sunshine. As usual, we enjoyed the great company and had lots of laughs! Thanks Tony & Sandy for a wonderful and entertaining day.Sandra & Tony - Monday 2nd Oct - We leisurely packed up to go home and Paul and Barb had invited us to morning tea at their place on our way home. ![]() Sandy & Tony, Chris & Margie and Ban & Sonya spent some time sitting around Paul’s campfire (in his backyard) eating Barb’s great scones and fig jam (really fig jam). It was nice to catch up with them both and had a tour of their home at Robertstown. Deb & Perry & David & Bronwyn went back through Burra on their way home. We all had a great weekend which included dressing up in heritage clothes and taking photos of each other in the Town Hall. The many attractions included the underground brewery (which was remarkable), the dugouts in the riverbanks and of course the CHOCOLATE SHOP. You could spend 3 days looking at everything and we managed to fit a lot in on the Sunday and would happily go again. Thanks a lot everyone for the laughs and great company.. Sandy & Tony
