Membership of the Club
Membership is set at 110 members. Persons
residing within 100km radius of the Adelaide GPO are required to attend three
Club meetings/activities each year. Failure to do so will result in membership
being either suspended or cancelled.
Membership fees are currently set at $70 per annum for Primary Members, and $55
per annum for Secondary Members (these are members who belong to more than one
club, of which one is their primary club), and $45 per annum for Associate
Members. A $15 joining fee applies for new members.
A portion of the membership fee for primary members goes to the SAAFWDC for
affiliation fees for insurances (e.g. Public Liability). The amounts are
determined yearly by the appropriate authority.
Members are entitled to participate in the SAAFWDC Discount Purchasing Scheme,
as well as benefit from discounts that are provided exclusively to this club.
Radio Communications
The use of Citizen Band (CB) radios is encouraged, in either AM 27Mhz or UHF
types. (UHF is preferred, but either or both may be used). These are used
extensively on Club trips for communication in convoy and for safety.
Those who are equipped with HF radios (commonly called RFDS radios) may wish to
avail themselves of the VKS737 Radio Network, currently operated by members of
the SAAFWDC.
Vehicle Spares and Equipment
Members are required to be self sufficient in spares and equipment when on Club
trips/outings. It is recommended that each vehicle be fitted with a fire
extinguisher, and carry a first aid kit and basic recovery kit.
Vehicle Insurance
Members are required to ensure that their vehicle has either Full Comprehensive
or Third Party Property insurance cover.
There is available a specialised insurance coverage through the ANFWDC to Club
members. Information is available through your Committee.
